This is the 2016 Edition of the classic book that brought the legend of the Philadelphia Experiment into the public sphere, and created saucer controversy for decades "The Case For the UFO!" Why has this book been suppressed for so many years? It is a well-reasoned review of the UFO record by an eminent astromomer, mathematician, and archaeologist Dr. M.K. Jessup. His conclusions are breathtaking and incredible, but inescapable.

This special reprint edition features not only the familiar introduction by Frank Edwards, but also the "lost" introduction by noted zoologist Ivan T. Sanderson, as well as cover design based on publisher Gray Barker's original concept.

Description from the dust jacket

Flying saucers are not new! For thousands of years, men have seen mysterious objects in the skies. Now, a prominent scientists proves that unidentified flying objects originate here, on Earth.

If you have ever wondered about the things today's scientists do not, will not, or cannot explain, this book is for you. Such questions might be

What is the hidden meaning of the comet's tail?

What caused the "Devil's Footprints" of Devonshire?

Why are we wrong to think of space flight only in terms of rocket power?

How was a soldier "teleported" from the Phillippine Islands to Mexico City within one hour?

What force lifted 1200-ton stones in ancient Peru?

How is acceleration achieved by UFOs?

What caused the disappearance of the crews of the SS Sea Bird and the Marie Celeste?

Was the "secret" of space flight known 50,000 years ago?

What is the strange truth hidden in the ancient ruins of Baalbek?

And finally, and most importantly Are the UFOs friend, or foe?

This original edition of "The Case For the UFO" does NOT include the scrawled "annotations" of the infamous Carlos Allende (who may or may not have tormented Jessup into committing suicide). You will find this version much easier to read than the Varo Edition, and probably much more meaningful.

The Case For the UFO Unidentified Flying Objects Morris K Jessup Ivan T Sanderson Books

This is a little known book, written in the 1950's, when it was not particularly well received by the public and was not widely published. Today some of the instances referenced are dated and seem less likely attributed to UFO activity than may have appeared true in the 50's. Still, the Author gives a detailed and thorough account of many instances of possible UFO encounters over centuries of human history, and for that reason alone it is worth reading. It's been reported that one area where this book was received with interest was by the U.S. Military, and other national governments, at the time when the U.S. Air Force was publishing "Project Blue Book" in an effort to debunk UFO reports on the part of the public.
For those interested, there is version of this book on the internet that includes notations allegedly added by several mysterious individuals only referred to as Mr. "A", Mr. "B" and "Jemi". Speculation as to whom these individuals may have been, and to what purpose these editorial comments were made. The Author of "The Case for the UFO" was also involved in the "Philadelphia Experiment" supposedly conducted by the military, with dubious results, during the same 1950's period.

The Case For the UFO Unidentified Flying Objects Morris K Jessup Ivan T Sanderson Books Reviews

From the 1950s, one of the great early classics on the mysteries of the UFO phenomenon.
I'm a Sci-Fi nut and found this read somewhat complex to read at first but eventually fell into the tempo of multiple authors entries in one read. Many directions, opinions and contradictions but mentally stimulating.
Aliens are visiting this mental asylum of a planet.
Kind of rambling accounts
Pretty good book. I ordered the Varo edition, and didn't get it. That's the reason I only gave it 4 stars.
There's more than enough information in this book to keep you questioning things for a long, long time. Even skeptics will find this a fascinating read. If you are merely curious about UFOs or an avid UFOlogist, this is a great resource to take you to the next level.
I, like most, purchased the kindle version. And as others have stated it is very difficult to separate the various comments of the three alleged contributors. It became easier for me when I just assumed that all the comments came from the same person, Carlos Allende with an identity problem, probably a schizophrenic (but who wouldn't be after going through that.
