The Real Pirates of the Caribbean eBook Colin Woodard
I only knew the brief mention of piracy and the privateer hiring by the Crown to repel them when I was in high school. This quick read expands on the action and makes me long for more. The truth is certainly more interesting than anything Disney could put together.Product details

The Real Pirates of the Caribbean eBook Colin Woodard Reviews
I very much enjoyed the content of the book and learning about the "real" pirates. I was surprised that it was only 22 pages long - I was hoping for a full length book with all the details. Maybe the author is working on that? I hope so.
It is way too short and covers such a very small story. It should have been better researched and expanded to tell about the pirates and their lives, not just nuggets of information. However, it is well written.
This was a good summary of the author's other (and better) book, The Republic of Pirates. If you've read that one, this is a fun review, if you've not read The Republic of Pirates, read that one first.
FYI to the dummies who are complaining that the book is too short it's supposed to be. It's the $3 version for people who would rather read 22 pages about pirates instead of 300. If you want to read the full book, it's called "The Republic of the Pirates," just like it says on the cover of this ebook. And, for the love of god people, read the page count before you buy. There's no reason to be surprised by the difference between an essay and a book.
PS -- Woodard's prose is brisk and informed; his sense for the right detail, superb. The full book is an excellent read.
Good read
Can read this in about an hour. Interesting details make me want more color and back stories.
Some typos in the text.
This was a very brief overview of the pirate age. It was interesting but didn't have a lot of detail.
I only knew the brief mention of piracy and the privateer hiring by the Crown to repel them when I was in high school. This quick read expands on the action and makes me long for more. The truth is certainly more interesting than anything Disney could put together.
